U16 Vietnam had an impressive display in the AFC U16 Championship 2020 qualifiers yet finished a defeat by U16 Australia.
After a disappointing extra time loss to Australia, Vietnam is ranked second of group H with 6 point and goal difference +8. However, the Golden Dragon is watching close other group ranks to wait for the final result.
Australia’s late goal in a group H qualifier on Sunday knocked Vietnam out of the 2020 AFC U16 Championship.
With their 1-2 defeat, Vietnam finished second in group H with 6 points and a goal difference of +8.
Other second-place teams, including Indonesia, Yemen, Uzbekistan, and Oman, earned 7 points each and qualified for the championship.
The 2020 AFC U16 Championship will be held in Bahrain.
